Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Genjator's Ships! I've been wanting to put together a collection of ships that I have been making in a game called StarMade. If you haven't heard of it, it's a block-building construction game very similar to Minecraft, but set in space. It's still in alpha, but I've found it to be a rather fun game. If you haven't played either game, I recommend you check them both out. StarMade is still in alpha, so if you try it, don't expect a full working game, but a fun one nonetheless.

Anyway. So, I've always been a big fan of space-based stuffs, especially space combat and ship design. I've watched Star Trek since I was a little kid, and have become a Stargate fan in recent years. I'll spare you further details on my likes and interests, but to sum up, StarMade provides a fun way to build ships and then test them in combat. It also includes elements of mining and exploring, with more being developed. There is a growing community surrounding the game, with hundreds of designs of ships of all different types.

I wanted to share what I've been working on in a place where they could all be found with ease. So, I welcome you, and invite you to take a look and enjoy. If you see something you like, let me know, feel free to try it. I upload my ship blueprints to starmadeblueprints.com, so feel free to stop by there and take a look. I'll provide links in each ship description to the upload. Be sure to check out the other shipwrights who upload their stuffs there!

CAPTAIN'S SHUTTLE

Designed with only one purpose in mind, that was the safe transport of any high-ranking official between ships and stations. A new design, it has first seen service aboard the USF Telithra, although there are current plans to distribute them to newer fleet command ships as they are brought into service. Equipped with mild shielding and several cannons, it is able to defend itself for a short period until help can arrive.

USF HARK

Odd, different, and generally considered somewhat ugly, the Hark-class Carrier was a fast-tracked design project, intended to provide a way of quickly moving a large number of smaller ships to and from combat zones. Part-way through construction, the original design was thrown out due to a large number of design flaws that provided for significant structural weakness. The entire engineering section was removed, taking out the internally-housed engines, power plant, and energy storage bays. Replacing that design were four independent external units, each housing its own power generation, energy storage, and engines. The result was a ship that could operate with damage to several engine sections, and at full power could move faster than any other ship in the fleet.

The plans for several external observation bridges were thrown out as well, opting instead for a new design that housed the central command station inside the ship, using new technologies to monitor ongoing events while keeping the crew much safer. The ship is protected by 36 Heavy Anti-Fighter Turrets spaced around the outside hull of the hanger bays. However, this does leave the rear of the ship vulnerable to attack.

The Hark-class carrier is capable of transporting over 200 ships within its two massive docking bays, from fighters to several Telran-class corvettes. The Hark Carrier is the first ship to carry the new Trelin MK2 Fighter and the Merskin Bomber.

MERSKIN BOMBER

Informally inspired by the Gallin Heavy Fighter, the Merskin Bomber was built with the idea of combining a heavy-hitting platform with the small size of a fighter. Sporting twin multi-cannons, along with two bow guns and two missile launcher, the Merskin packs a very strong punch in a very compact form. It is fairly maneuverable for its size, which is good because since it was introduced, it has become an instant target for all enemy fighters. Its two multi-cannons are capable of shredding any fighter that comes near it within seconds, while its small defense turret provides limited covering fire during strafing runs on larger vessels.

TRELIN MK2 FIGHTER

The decision to overhaul the Trelin-class fighter came after watching battle performance reviews and analyzing statistics of multiple encounters. While the Trelin performed fairly well, it had several design flaws which were costing many more lives than the Federation Nval Command was willing to have. A design board was given three weeks to create a new, better design. The Trelin MK2 was the result. Nearly double the mass due to using stronger hull plating, larger, the shield strength was nearly quadrupled from the original design. Its speed was slightly better, with more efficient power generation capabilities. Even the weapons, which were already decent, were given an overhaul, providing a small boost in strength. While not as suited for atmospheric combat as its predecessor, in most every way the Trelin MK2 is considered superior to the original design. However, its deployment has been limited due to the vastly increased cost of production, nearly 5 times more expensive.

CALTHRIAN GUNBOAT

The Gunboat was designed as a small support vessel against both fighters and corvette-class ships. Armed with four bow cannons and two specialized anti-fighter cannons, it is quick and maneuverable, allowing for great support in any fleet engagement.

GALLIN HEAVY FIGHTER

The Gallin Heavy Fighter was designed alongside the Trelin-class fighter, meant to operate in a heavy fighter support role. It’s twin missile batteries allow it to perform strafing runs of enemy capital ships, while also capable of engaging in fighter-to-fighter combat with its two powerful AM Cannons. Not as maneuverable as the Trelin-class fighter, it none-the-less is a strong new addition to the Calithran Federation's fleet.

TRELIN CLASS FIGHTER

The Trelin-class fighter was created as a replacement for the aging Vips-class fighter. Equipped with stronger weapons than the Vips, its weakness is in the decreased shielding. However, it can hold its own in a fight with most other ships, and in groups can become quite dangerous. Considerations are underway on how to best upgrade the shielding without sacrificing it’s speed and agility. The Trelin-class fighter is capable of both space flight and atmospheric flight, allowing for mutli-purpose assignments. It is also cheaper than its predecessor, due to armoring only the cockpit of the fighter, using weaker hull plating on there rest of the ship.

USF TELRAN

Due to an increase in fighter raids against Calthrian holdings, the Telran-class Corvette was rushed through the design board and pressed into service immediately. Outfitted with a ridiculously large number of turrets for a ship its size, it has one role only – that of anti-fighter defense on outposts and battle groups. Quick and very maneuverable, it is able to circle around larger capital ships, providing them with powerful defense against swarms of enemy fighters. It is vulnerable to enemy capital ships, however, and is often seen in the company of frigates and destroyers. Due to the compact design, however, the Telran-class suffers from extremely short range, carrying very little space for extended tours of duty. This forces all Telran-class corvettes to operate from a home-base, whether that be a planet, starbase, or carrier fleet.

USF KELLEN

The Kellen-class Destroyer was the product of a long search for a balanced capital ship, able to combat both larger capital ships as well as smaller capital ships and fighters. Essentially a long brick of guns, it is extremely quick for a ship its size, making it difficult for other capital ships to compete with and fighter ships to keep up with. Defended by moderate shielding, it can take a number of hits before withdrawing from an engagement. Often seen hunting in groups, the Kellen-class Destroyer, while not pretty, is one of the more beloved ships in the Calthrian Federation Navy.

USF CATHLITH

The Cathlith-class frigate was imagined to be a capital-ship killer, and so was armed with one extremely powerful bow cannon. It’s ability to maneuver fairly quickly for a ship its size allows it to harass enemy capital ships, quickly depleting their shield strength. A single missile battery allows for moderate damage once shields have been drained, and its multiple cannons are able to either assist in assaulting its current target or provide moderate defense against other capital ships. It is more vulnerable to fighters than desired, as a result of it being so narrowly focused, and requires either a fighter escort or pairing with a Telran-class corvette.

VIPS-CLASS FIGHTER

The Vips-class fighter is an older fighter, designed at the same time as the Aeterna-class Battleship was imagined. Meant as an escort fighter, its two cannons are able to do only minor damage to opposing fighters. The Vips-class fighter’s strength comes from operating in groups to swarm an enemy ship, and with their good maneuverability, they can quickly dart around any battlefield, providing support where necessary. Few still remain in service as they are being phased out in favor of the new Trelin-class Fighter.

USF AETERNA

The USF Aeterna is an older-generation Battleship class of the Calthrian Federation, seeing service since before the start of the Calthrian-Meltrin war. Although she features an outdated weapons system (numerous small on-board cannons as opposed to the more modern heavy on-board cannons), she is still a fearsome opponent. Even more heavily shielded than the new Telithra-class Battlecruiser, the Aeterna can take massive amounts of punishment before succumbing to enemy fire. The Aeterna was conceptualized as the center of any fleet combat, absorbing the majority of enemy fire while striking back at enemy capital ships with impunity. The Aeterna’s most obvious weakness is a significant lack of anti-fighter weaponry, sporting only 12 tri-barreled anti-fighter cannons, an older design than those currently seeing service on more modern ships. To make up for this weakness, the Aeterna was outfitted with two hanger bays housing 10 Vips-class fighters each. Although old, the USF Aeterna is most definitely one of the Calthrian Federation’s most dangerous ships.
